BREAKING NEWS: EFKS Church Donates $300,000 For Measles Appeal

EFKS Church is donating $300,000 to the Government Measles Epidemic Control Appeal today. 

A cheque for the amount was presented to the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi in his office this afternoon.

The EFKS church raised the money from all of its congregational membership around the country.

The EFKS is the leading denomination in the country and their contribution follows closely behind the Methodist Church in Samoa a few days ago.

NZ Seasonal Workers To Up Collection For Measles Epidemic Fight

Up to 2000 local seasonal workers in New Zealand are taking up a collection of $10 from each person to donate to the measles epidemic at home in Samoa.

Workers from all over New Zealand are expected to get together in Hastings on Christmas Day to celebrate the occasion and to take up the collection.

Chinese Business Community Donate Truckloads of Assistance

Food and children clothing were among the loads that were trucked to the Ministry of Health on Wednesday from a group of Chinese businesses to help with the measles epidemic effort.

The Princessa Chain Stores, ICY Water Company Ltd, Payless Company Limited, DLY and Treasure Garden made up the donor group.

 The assistance is reportedly something the group had talked about for a while.
