BREAKING NEWS : King Faipopo Jailed For 7 Weeks

Malele Atofu Paulo alias King Faipopo is sentenced to 7 weeks at Tanumalala Prison for criminal libel.

Judge Alalatoa Rosella Papali’i, handed down her two hour ruling today in the District Court.

Paulo was charged with making defamatory claims against the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Maleilegaoi, in the assassination of the Minister of Works Luagalau Levaula Kamu.

God Decides Life and Death - PM

Faith in the overriding will of God has left the Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, unconcerned by any plot to have him killed.

His reaction on national radio yesterday, was the first time he has responded publicly to an alleged murder conspiracy on his life.

 “ God has already worked out the time a person dies and how,” he recalled his response to a similar threat made on his life more than a decade ago.

New arrest in alleged plot to kill PM

Police have arrested a fourth person in connection with the alleged plot to kill the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

Newsline Samoa has confirmed the new arrest from sources connected to the police investigation of the alleged conspiracy.

Yet to be confirmed is the identity of the fourth alleged plotter.

The Ministry of Police is yet to make a public statement. The Deputy Commissioner of Police was also unavailable for comment.

King Faipopo Gives Court, Legal Run Around

District Judge Alalatoa Rosella Papali’i has several unexpected legal matters to sort out this week, after getting all set to pass sentence on Malele Atofu Paulo last Thursday.

Paulo who is better known as King Faipopo, wants to change his guilty plea to not guilty, for making defamatory allegations against the Prime Minister Tuilaepa.

He also wants to be discharged without conviction leaving room for more confusion.

The allegations in the King Faipopo court hearing that reopened in detail the assassination of the late Minister of Works, Luagalau Levaula Kamu, is shameful at the very least.

The deliberate voicing of these allegations that were later admitted in court to be made up must be condemned in the highest terms.

How do you reconcile made up stories with the reopening of the wounds that took the family of the slain Cabinet Minister years of grief to heal?

PM Tuilaepa Court Action ‘A Must’ Against King Faipopo

The Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has defended his decision to file defamation court charges against Australian based anti-Government online blogger, Malele Paulo alias King Faipopo.

The PM was implicated in ‘serious allegations’ made by the defendant in the 1999 assassination of the late Luagalau Levaula Kamu, the Minister of Works at the time in the Tuilaepa Cabinet.

Judge Alalatoa Clarifies Social Media Ruling 

The District Court has clarified bail conditions for the 45-year-old man who is facing charges of what a state prosecutor calls “telecommunications offenses” against Samoa’s Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

District Court Judge Alalatoa Rosella Viane Papalii informed the defendant, Malele Atofu Paulo, known by Samoan social media users as ‘King Faipopo,’ that he was never given a blanket condition that prohibited him from posting on social media.
