Bodybuilding Federation prepares for IFBB World Men’s Championship

 MEDIA RELEASE :  Following its successful campaigns at the recent South Pacific Oceania and New Zealand Championships, the Bodybuilding Federation of Samoa (BBFS) is preparing for the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) World Men’s Bodybuilding Championship and International Congress, which will be held in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates during 8-10 November.

Samoa will be represented by Arona Mataia and Mr Samoa/Mr South Pacific John Lemoa and the team will be led by BBFS President Magele Johannas Keil.

Mataia won the Men’s Physique category at the South Pacific Oceania Championship in Tahiti while Lemoa won the Open Men’s Bodybuilding Over 90kgs category and the title of “Overall Winner”. Both athletes also secured IFBB Elite Pro-cards as a result of their exceptional performances in Papeete earning them the right to turn professional and compete on the highly competitive and prestigious IFBB Elite Pro-circuit.

‘The Federation is very proud of the achievements of Mataia and Lemoa and their success and commitment have qualified them to represent our country at the highest level at the upcoming IFBB World Championship’ said an elated Magele.

Samoa’s bodybuilders are undergoing intense training and maintaining strict nutrition plans as part of their preparations to achieve optimum conditioning for the competition in Fujairah.

Samoa has a long proud bodybuilding history and the latest results is a positive step forward for the National Federation and its future development plans to grow the sport, encourage participation especially by women and the youth, as well as build its profile and appeal to potential partners and sponsors.

BBFS acknowledges with appreciation the support of Government through the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, Gambling Control Authority and SIFA, as well as Transworks, Eveni, Samoa Airways, Samoa Commercial Bank, Joe’s Gym (Bodybuilding Club), Apia Concrete Products, Aldan Construction, Faleolo Airport Lounge and Lotopa Foodie.

Team Samoa will depart for Fujairah on 5th November.
