Mr Jiang Lin is the team leader of the Chinese coaching team which has been helping Samoa’s athletes who are competing in the 2019 Pacific Games.

The team of 15 coaches and two government officials one which is a translator arrived in Samoa in the 17th June. They came to Samoa Lin said to do a follow up training for the athletes whom they had coached in China . More than 200 athletes travelled  to China for training.

The 15 coaches are for eleven sports – basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, swimming, athletics, archery, boxing and weightlifting.

Lin said that the Samoan athletes have trained hard for the Games and they should give good performances.

China not only helped in the training of the athletes but also assisted in the putting together of that spectacular opening ceremony on Sunday night. China also provided 21 buses for the transport of athletes, built the multipurpose gym plus helping in the renovations of some of the facilities.
