Samoa's lifters have set a number of new records this week and after the fourth day of the XVI Pacific Games weightlifting competition the team moves into the final day with 42 medals and 27 of them are gold.

The gold tally comprised 10 that are counted for the Pacific Games; 17 for the Oceania and Commonwealth competitions being held in conjunction with the Pacific Games.

Weightlifting supporters are looking forward to Saturday, the final day of weightlifting at Gym 1 when Feagaiga Stowers is set to lift.

Stowers holds six gold medals. Her most recent gold was won at the 2019 World Championships (Junior) held early this year in Suva, Fiji.

One of her medals is from the 2019 Arafura Games and the third is a Commonwealth God Coast medal.

Three gold medals are from the Mini Games held in Vanuatu.
