Spectators appeal for beach volleyball is growing at full blast inside the newly opened Apia Waterfront, where it is played in the open and free for all to watch and enjoy.

Ulatino Godinet from Vailele and Filipo Filipo from Safata are among the growing crowds, who are now fans of the sport after watching it for free and liking what they saw.

“We are always here to watch all day without having to pay,” Godinet told Newsline Samoa.

Fellow spectator Filipo used the opportunity to bring his family without having to worry about entry cost.

“This is an incredible chance to bring my kids and not have to worry about paying for their entrance ticket,” Filipo said.

“The venue is ideal with enough benches on the side for us to sit and enjoy while

getting a taste of what the Pacific Games is about.

“Having them watch beach volleyball has been fun and it is everything to me to see them enjoy what this sport has to offer.”

The Games volunteers and officials handling of the spectators have come under praise as well.

Team supporters from different countries cheer their teams freely without bother.
