Samoa’s badminton team were not successful in their bid to win a medal in the 2019 Pacific Games.
A disappointed Team Manager Tomasi Peni conceded that they did not achieve their medal goal.
But he remains in a fighting mood, confident of future improvements as most of the players in Team Samoa badminton were new to the sport.
Only one of the players had international playing experience.
Badminton won a bronze medal in the 2007 Pacific Games hosted by Samoa.
The badminton competition ran from the first day of the Pacific Games and ended last week.
Seven countries competed in badminton in the 2019 Pacific Games.
Before signing off for the Pacific Games XVI, Peni ended on a note of promise that badminton will return strong at the next Pacific Games with a much better shot at winning medals.
