A roadside brawl in front of a busy supermarket next to the main road at Vailoa, threatened public safety when it spilled onto the road.
Eyewitness reported empty bottles and rocks flying around and onto oncoming traffic.
The violence broke out between two groups of men at around 9.00pm in the evening, according to people who were present when it happened.
Once included a disabled vendor selling cooked food in front of the supermarket, who lost his crutches when one of the brawlers snatched it up during the fight.
Ioane Mose from Saleimoa is grateful that it was only his crutches that was damaged.
“One of the groups was in an old white car which pulled up and started talking to another group sitting in front of the supermarket,” Mose witnessed.
“Voices were raised with one overheard telling someone to “ go and get the gun”, it was shortly afterwards that fighting broke out and objects started flying everywhere.
“Out of nowhere, one of the guys (from the group in front of the store) rushed up to me and took one of my crutches, and then joined the fight.”
The fighting finally ended when the police arrived and the brawlers scampered off.
By the time Mose found his missing crutch it was broken in two .
“I found my crutch in the middle of the road where it had been thrown and run over by a car, still I'm grateful I'm in one piece.'
This is not the first time a brawl has happened in front of the popular retail store other eyewitnesses recalled.
