The Minister of Health Tuitama Dr Talalelei Tuitama has confirmed the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Health.

Leausa Dr. Take Naseri takes over as the CEO of the newly merged Ministry of Health.

The Minister also confirmed the resignation of the head of the National Health Services, Ms. Palanitina Toelupe.

The once indpendent NHS with Toelupe as CEO is now merged into the Ministry of Health after the legislation for the re-merged was passed in the recent session of Parliament.

Tuitama added that a new position was offered inside the Ministry for the former NHS boss but she declined it.

Her contract with the NHS before the re-merge was due to end next May.

The staff adjustment at the top level is the only one to be made so far since the transition into the Ministry of Health was officially enacted.

The Minister confirmed that none of the other staff members have been affected so far.

New staff posts are due to be advertised soon under the new Health Ministry set up.
