Leausa Dr. Take Naseri is officially the new Director General of Health. Cabinet confirmed his appointment in their weekly meeting yesterday on Wednesday.
He was one of four applicants for the job and his 3-year contract appointment is standard for all heads of ministry.
As top health official, Dr. Naseri, fills in the leadership spot left open since the re-merge of the National Health Services with the Ministry.
He was the Health Ministry CEO before the re-merge and stepped in to man the services while the appointment of a Director General was in process.
Dr. Naseri holds a Masters degree in Public Health and a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery.
He has already logged in 25 years of services in the health profession with overseas working experiences in New Zealand and American Samoa.
