Bail is denied on the main suspects in the alleged conspiracy to murder the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

Lemai Faioso Sione and Malele Atofu Paulo alias King Faipopo appeared in court this morning for the first time since they were arrested and charged.

Police successfully objected in court to applications by the defendants to be remanded at liberty under bail conditions.

The pair, however, did not enter any plea to the charges.

Both are called to appear again in court next Monday and will continue to remain under police custody.

A third person, with alleged links to the conspiracy is on bail for a separate criminal charge

Taualai Leiloa is reportedly on bail and under the responsibility of the traditional authority of his home village Lauli’i.

No fourth person, as alleged earlier by police and court officials, made any appearance.

PM Tuilaepa has brushed the alleged threat to his life as not knew. There were other earlier threats but were kept quiet by the police.

He stands on his faith that God has already determined the time of his death and not by people who conspire to do so.
