If you see someone walking around with a ‘sei pua’ or yellow frangipani over the next few weeks, it’s to let you know about cancer.

August is cancer month, for those of us who don’t know yet.

The wearers are mostly women and they do look pretty in them. Many of the men have hang ups at going around with flowers on their ears.

Most have a habit of taking particular note of the ear of choice by the women wearers.

For the unaware, culture requires the unmarried to wear the flower on the left ear.  The married places them on the right.

It’s very important for men to know this.  Nobody wants to make any romantic moves on a woman with a flower on her right ear.

Men who do, are highly prone to the black eye epidemic from angry husbands of flower wearing wives.

“….does it matter if the left, right or both eyes are black, dear?
