Sunny days are not guaranteed throughout the Games says the weather man.

This is the weather forecast by the Meteorological Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The ACEO of the Met Office Mulipola Ausetalia Titimaea said they are keeping a close eye on the weather pattern as the Games approach and what they are noticing is the unpredictable nature of the weather.

“ These are supposed to be sunny days but the weather changes from day to day. On some days there has been heavy rain during the day and at night,” Mulipola told Newsline.

“ The wind (tuaoloa) blows strongly sometimes and there are some nights which have been quite chilly.”

The seas have been choppy and there is still warning for the small fishing boats not to go out fishing Mulipola added.

Mulipola  is praying for sunny weather for it helps in the smooth running of the Games.

“ It will be good for the sports played outside. Sunny weather will also be good for the entertainment which will all be done outside, the rain could spoil all the wonderful preparations the children have put in so much effort. Moreover, it would cause no problem for the movement of the people during the Games and  contributing to a good turnout for the spectators.”

He added that since we are not in charge of the weather we could call upon Divine intervention to give us sunny weather during the Games.
