Conspiracy to murder the Prime Minister Tuilaepa was confirmed in court today with one of the 3 people accused of the crime pleading guilty to the charge.

Taualai Tuilaepa Lailoa, appeared before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke, without any legal counsel and admitted guilt.

He has been remanded under special bail conditions to await sentencing in court at the end of the month, 30 September 2019.

Similar charges of conspiracy to murder against the two other accused, Lema’i Faioso Sione and Malele Atofu Paulo, are denied.

Both rejected a second charge of conspiracy and are still being held under policy custody, to await a bail hearing on 18 September 2019.

Attempts are being made by the local police to extradite a fourth person from Australia who maybe linked to the conspiracy allegations.

Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil confirmed to Newsline Samoa last week, the ‘processes’ underway already to legally force Tala Pauga to be brought to Samoa.
