 Arms Amendment Bill A Must For Pacific Games

An Arms Amendment Bill necessary for the Pacific Games is to be tabled in the session of Parliament starting tomorrow morning Tuesday 18 June 2019.

The amendment must be passed to legalize the possession and use of selected firearms and ammunition for shooting competition in the Pacific Games starting on the 7 July in Samoa.

The Commissioner of Police, Fuiavailili Egon Keil went over the proposed bill in a pre-sitting session of Members of Parliament this morning.

Games Village Officially Under Organisers

The Faleula Methodist School and Church Compound is now under the authority of the Pacific Games Organisers, as the official Games Village for participating sporting contingents.

Out Of Family Turmoil Rises A Star

When Team Samoa weightlifters challenge the weights in competition at the Pacific Games, an 18 year old among them will need no introduction to the home fans.

Her name is Feagaiga Stowers and she is already a star. 

Hot out of winning gold and silver at the recent World Weightlifting Championship in Fiji, she is a blazing favourite for top honours at the Tuanaimato Gym 1 weightlifting venue.

Church Council Rally For Pacific Games Success With Prayers and Fasting

The National Council of Churches is pushing for heavenly blessings over Samoa, athletes and everyone coming for the Pacific Games through national prayers and fasting.

The Secretary of the National Council of Churches Reverend Maauga Motu said the Council is not sitting idle as the country prepares for the Games.

Final Year Nursing Student Juggle Games and Studies

There will be no rest for a 25 year old final year nursing student when she takes her holiday break from studies next month in July.

Taikerise Faasi’i will be huffing and puffing on court, as a member of Team Samoa’s women volleyball team at the Pacific Games here in Apia, scheduled for two weeks.

The road she is taking is a tight one with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing she wants to complete this year and representing Samoa in volleyball.

Go New Zealand Go

Teachers and students of Pu’apu’a Primary School in Savaii are  among the schools selected to sing the national anthem of their assigned  country to cheer New Zealand.

Everyone is looking forward to making the trip from the big island to perform and to cheer for the kiwis.

It is historical for the school. For not only the students have the opportunity to take part in the activities but also watch the sporting events
